The Top Shelf International (TSI) distilling team and Australian grains have proved a golden combination, with Grainshaker recognised as the highest ranked Australian vodka, and equal third-highest rated vodka in the world, at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London.

Grainshaker Wheat Vodka scored 98 points and received an Outstanding Gold medal from the independent panel of global industry experts to lead all Australian vodkas, with judges hailing it as a “versatile and stylish spirit” with smoothness and character.

Grainshaker Wheat was one of just four Australian spirits to score 98 points across the entire category; the other three spirits being gins– two from Four Pillars and one from Kangaroo Island Spirits.

“I can’t believe our local vodka, made in Campbellfield in Victoria, is the equal third highest-rated vodka in the entire world. It’s just amazing,” TSI Master Distiller, Sebastian Reaburn, said.

“Our philosophy across the Grainshaker and NED portfolios has always been to take the quality of Australian grains and craft accessible, premium spirits with character and personality.

“To be recognised on the global stage in both vodka and whisky categories is something worth celebrating. As it happens we’ve got just the spirits for the occasion.”

Only two vodkas from around the world scored higher than Grainshaker Wheat at the awards recognised as one of the most prestigious and influential global spirits competitions.

In a showcase of Grainshaker’s grain-based portfolio quality, all varieties were awarded more than 90 points from the judges, with Corn (92 points) and Rye (91 points) receiving silver medals.

NED Whisky’s consistency, and that of TSI’s premium spirits portfolio, was also recognised with the newly-released Green Sash Reserve and Wanted Series – Loyalty awarded silver medals, and Sounds of Bathurst, Wanted Series – Ingenuity and Australian Sour Mash each receiving bronze medals.

Act of Treason Greta #4 Trial Agave Spirit received a bronze medal with judges describing it as having “pepper on the palate with notes of fruit, coconut and sweetness. Pleasant finish”‍
